GM’s Tips:

For this adventure, focus on the immersive experience of the crafting process by detailing the environment and materials available at the Forge of Creation. Use descriptive language to evoke the sensory details of the forge—heat from the fires, the clang of hammer on anvil, the glow of molten metal—to pull players into the scene. Encourage creativity by allowing players to describe their crafting methods and the unique features of their artifacts, adjusting the difficulty of crafting checks based on the complexity and rarity of the items they attempt to create. Be flexible with the outcomes based on players’ descriptions and strategies; this not only rewards creative thinking but also increases engagement. Keep the pacing brisk during the crafting phase to maintain tension and excitement, but allow quieter moments during the evaluation and reflection scenes where players can explore character development and interact more deeply with the NPCs and each other. Lastly, prepare for varied outcomes—success, failure, and withdrawal—ensuring each has meaningful consequences that affect future interactions and opportunities in the game world.
